Spike John Philo Canastota- Spike John Philo, age 64, of Canastota passed away Thursday September 22, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 16, 1952 in Oneida, NY a son of Floyd and Marion Philo. Prior to his retirement "Spike "worked at Oneida Ltd Silversmiths for eighteen years. He fought cancer and illness for 12 years and no matter what treatment Spike endured, his mother, sister Arlene, and brother-in-law Joe were there for him. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who lived for telling jokes, hunting, fishing and a handyman for all. He loved his family very much and would do all he could to help them. Surviving are his wife Brenda, mother Marion Philo; children, Dean (Sherina) Philo, Connie (Joe) Hilts, Denny, April and Christopher, sister Arlene (Joseph)Ingalls, brothers , Herbert (Diane) Philo, Howard Philo, Floyd (Vicki) Philo, grandchildren , Dean Jr., Savannah, Landon, Bentley, Lucas and one on the way." Our Papa", Anna, Sierra, Victoria and Domianna. One aunt, Eleanor Keene, several nieces, nephews, and cousins and two special friends, Fred Johansen and Derek Precourt. He was predeceased by his father Floyd, father-in-law Dean and mother-in-law Rita Raymond, son-in-law Tony Hicks. He will be forever loved and missed by all. Our Hero!
