He married Gertrude (Trudy) Anken on September 10, 1949 in Rome, a blessed union that lasted 60 years until she passed on September 6, 2009. Surviving are two daughters JoAnn (Michael) Furlong of Andover Mass, Karen (Charles) Pidutti of Jamesville; son James (Zoe) Morrissey of Vernon; grandchildren Ryan and Sean Furlong, Erin (Matthew) Russell and Braden Morrissey; and several nieces and nephews. Franklin is survived by sister Isabel (Harold) Woolschlager of Lowville, and was predeceased by sisters Gladys (Clayton) Bramhall of Utica, Evelyn (Kenneth) Hill of Turin, and Leona (Billy) Sargent of Brownville. Franklin lived independently until recently, and the family is very grateful for the care provided by Hospice Palliative Care and Oneida Hospital ECF. Friends and family are invited and call Saturday Sept 27 from 10:00-11:30 am at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon with the funeral prayer service by Father William Mesmer to commence visitation.
