Stella S. Docko

Vernon-Stella S. Docko, age 94 of Vernon passed away peacefully early Saturday evening June 10, 2017 in her home.

She was born on December 26, 1922 in Dearborn, Michigan a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Kubicz) Siemasz and was a graduate of the Verona High School Class of 1940.

In 1943 Stella and John Simchik were united in marriage and shared this union until John's death in 1959.

In 1963 Stella and Alpheus A. Docko were united in marriage in St. Francis Church of Durhamville and shared that vow until Alfie's death on June 23, 1992.

Prior to her retirement in 1981 Stella was employed for over thirty years as a bank teller with the former Oneida Savings Bank.

Stella's memberships included St. Francis Church of Durhamville and Holy Family Church of Vernon. She enjoyed golfing, knitting, baking and spending time with her family in her spare time.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Donald) Roberts of Vernon, one son Michael Simchik and companion Corene of Rye, NH, four grandchildren, Jeff Roberts, Shannon DiBerardino, Jamie Simchik and Casey Simchik, three great-grandchildren, Paige, Erin and Connor DiBerardino, several nieces, nephews and a good friend Lori Moriarty.

Stella was also predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.

In keeping with Stella's wishes calling hours will be private. A celebration of Stella's life will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Durhamville, NY. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
