Obituary of Valerae M Sprague

Vernon-Valerae M. Sprague, age 79, formerly of Vernon and more recently of the Colonial Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center passed away late Sunday evening February 18, 2018 in the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. She was born on January 11, 1939 in Vernon, New York a daughter of the late Gordon H. Sprague Sr. and Bessie Craver and attended Vernon Schools. Valerae enjoyed reading about history and current events. She also enjoyed listening to classical music and watching golf on television. Valerae was always advocating for her friends residing at the Oneida Towers and the Colonial Park Rehabilitation Center. Surviving are two brothers, Donald Sprague of Vernon and Gordon (Doris) Sprague Jr. of Westmoreland sister Shirley Maxfield of Oneida, sister-in-law, Mabelle Sprague of Cal., and several nieces and nephews. Valerae was predeceased by her brother Stanley Sprague. In keeping with Valerae's wishes there will be a private funeral service for the family. Spring burial will be in Vernon Village Cemetery, Vernon, New York. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon.
