Beulah Maxwell Verona-Mrs. Beulah Maxwell, age 96, better known as "Pete" passed away Saturday December 27, 2014 in the Betsy Ross Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born August 2, 1918 to Nickolas and Lena (Deis) Rocker on a farm one mile south of Lowell on Route 26 and attended the Westmoreland Schools. On June 6, 1937 she was married to George Maxwell in Westmoreland by Rev. George Pilbeam. She had a son Robert that passed away in 1955 and her husband passed away in 1999. "Pete" enjoyed playing cards and talking on the phone. She also enjoyed mowing her lawn and did till the fall of this year. She had three brothers, Kenneth, Floyd and Royal and two sisters Marian Race and Mildred Austin, all deceased. "Pete" leaves several nieces, nephews and special friends. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Mrs. Maxwell's funeral service will be held at 10:30 immediately following calling hours at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, New York.
