Obituary of Terrell M. Rainwater

Verona-Terrell M. Rainwater, 22, passed peacefully at home with his loving family by his side, on September 26, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is the son of Amanda M. Parkin-Ibrahim and Jamal K. Ibrahim born on November 4, 2000. Terrell, graduated in 2019 from Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central High School. He was an avid lover of soccer and played in high school, in college at Tompkins-Cortland Community College, as well as several Ithaca teams and Accelerate Sports Recreational Teams. He was the assistant coach for VVS High School where he passed on his love of soccer to others. He was also an assistant at the family-owned business, Hill Top Child Care. Terrell was very close to his family. His sister Nyamakye almost shared his birthday, she was born on November 3rd. Those that were in earshot could hear Terrell yell "Beautiful!" whenever he saw her. Terrell was always there to support his parents and siblings. Terrell was always making people laugh. He had an amazing sense of humor and was wise beyond his years. He was stubborn and would always tell you the truth. He always looked out for, and supported the ones he loved. Terrell never complained and put others first, no matter what he was going through. He was a lover of music, long drives and going out to eat with the people he loved. Surviving besides his mother, Amanda and stepfather, Jamal, are his siblings, Corrinn A. Rainwater, Connerr M. Parkin, Nyamakye S. Ibrahim and Ageykum A. Ibrahim. Grandparents Anita (Mark) Walts of Mohawk, NY, Paul (Christine) Davis of Rome, NY, Salamat Ibrahim of Ghana, Africa. Aunts Elaine (Mike) Diianni of Verona, NY, and April (Tyler) Cassavaw of Oneida, NY, Nicole Galante of Rome, NY, Maryam of VA, and Janet of Liverpool, NY and uncles David (Lillian) Guth of Manlius, NY, Benjamin Peters of Canastota, NY, Ahmed Ibrahim of CT, Fareed Ibrahim of Liverpool, NY, Nizar and Sadik Ibrahim of VA. Terrell had many close friends, that became like family who stayed by his side throughout his illness. The family would like to recognize Brianna Gallogly, his Godmother Jadyn Wong, Abby Nell, Ally Schrader, Andy Busik, Eslam Gendi, Coach Frank Mitchell, Dylan Duchene, Cindy Deraway, Janelle, Chris and Cory Couture. The family would like to thank all the nurses from Hospice, especially Cindy and Cari, who were there in his final hours. The family also would like to thank all friends and family in Ghana, Africa for making and sending medicine and for their love, support and prayers. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday September 29, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A brief funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours.
