Obituary of Georgette X. Cummings

Sherrill-Georgette X. Cummings, a longtime resident of Primo Ave. passed away Sunday afternoon October 20, 2024 at the age of 93 in the Oneida Health Extended Care Facility after a brief stay. She was born on October 12, 1931 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Elunine (Montressor) Xedis and was a graduate of St. Patrick's Elementary School and Oneida High School. On March 31, 1951 Georgette and Robert C. Cummings were united in marriage in Oneida, New York and shared that loving vow until Bob's death in 1986. Prior to her retirement in 1993 Georgette was employed as a timekeeper with the Oneida Limited Silversmiths. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, traveling and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her long-time special companion, Gordon Folts, who predeceased her in 2019. Surviving are her two daughters and their spouses, Connie and Wayne Warner of Verona, Roberta "Bobbi" and Terry Parody of Franklinton, NC, her beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Jonathan (Claudia), Christopher (Courtney), Kara (Trevor), Ryan (Sarah), Marcus, Caitlyn (David), Joseph (Bridgette), great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Phillip, Lilly, Reese, Kendall, Austin, Tanner, Eloise, Hadley, Kilee, Peyton, Tristen, Kennedy and Colton and several nieces and nephews with special mention to nieces DeDe Xedis, Gail Curtis (Xedis) and Georgette Harvard (Xedis) for their unwavering love and support. Georgette was predeceased by her husband Robert C. Cummings, son, George M. Cummings and her siblings. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Clinton, and Oneida ECF for their loving care and support of Georgette. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday November 9, 2024 from 11am to 1pm at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc. 464 Sherrill Rd, Sherrill, NY. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Oneida Castle Cemetery, 2nd Ave., Oneida Castle, NY.
