Maureen (Renee) Wayman
SHERRILL - Maureen (Renee) Wayman, age 72, child of God, loving and faithful daughter, mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at her home.
Renee was born June 29, 1943 in Rome, NY, the daughter of James F. and
Pauline I. Earnest Wayman. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1961.
On August 7, 1965 she married Rocco Valentine in St. Peter's Church,
Rome, N.Y. They were married for 27 years and have four children who were
the light and love of her life.
Renee was a secretary for many businesses and organizations for much of her life and
retired from Madison-Oneida BOCES of Verona, NY in 2006. She was a
member of Resurrection Life Church in Rome, NY.
Her hobbies included shopping, reading and following all world and national
current events. Her happiest years were when her children were young and she was involved in their day-to-day activities and sports. She continued to do the same with her
beautiful grandchildren. She was able to realize one of her fondest dreams when she went to Israel with her sister in March of 2008.
She was preceded in death by four special angels, daughter, Kelly S. Valentine, and grandsons, Rocco J. Valentine, Colin R.Valentine, Christopher R. Cox, as well as her beloved parents of Waldorf, MD.
Renee is survived by two sons Rafe Valentine of Rome, NY, Eric and Nicole (Orlando) Valentine of Baldwinsville, NY and daughter, Allison Valentine of Rome, NY. Treasured grandchildren, Brent, Brittany and Madison Valentine of Rome, NY; Nicholas and Nathan Proper, Emil Handford and Derek Rodriguez of Rome, NY, Callia Valentine of Baldwinsville, NY, sister Shirley Wayman of Waldorf, MD, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Sandra Wayman of King George, VA, brother and sister-in-law James and Cathy Wayman of Baraboo, WI, special nephews Christopher and Andrew Fitch of LaPlata, MD.
Malecki Funeral Home of Sherrill, NY is handling arrangements and internment will
be in Valley View Cemetery, Middle Road, Oneida, NY. At Renee's request, the funeral
services will be private and there will be no calling hours.
