Stacy Basin-William R. (Bill) Breckenridge, age 88, entered into his eternal rest early Wednesday morning January 8, 2025 in Wynn Hospital after a brief stay. He was born on July 21, 1936 in Stacy Basin, New York a son of the late Howard T. and Anna Mae (Smith) Breckenridge and was a graduate of the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools. In 1954 Bill enlisted with the United States Army proudly serving his country before his honorable discharge in 1957. On September 26, 1959 Bill and Magdelyn P. Tiller were united in marriage in St. Agatha's Church of Canastota and have shared this sacred vow of over sixty-five years together. Prior to his retirement Bill was employed as the shipping and receiving clerk with the Oneida Limited Silversmiths. Bill lived a faith filled life and served as an usher for over forty-five years at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Verona. He enjoyed times with his family and cherished every moment with his grandchildren and later with his great-grandchildren. Surviving is his loving wife, Magdelyn "Lynn" Breckenridge, four children and their spouses, William (Susan) Breckenridge of Tempe, AZ, Daniel (Nancy) Breckenridge of New London, Douglas (Ellen) Breckenridge of Vernon and Keith (Terry) Breckenridge of Verona, nineteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his three brothers, Howard, Allen and Richard Breckenridge and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 13, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 5652 E. Main Street, Verona, NY.
