Obituary of Patricia H. Avery

Patricia H. Avery Vernon Center-Patricia H. Avery, age 80 of Hogan Road passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon August 21, 2015 in the Oneida Healthcare Center. She was born on January 16, 1935 in Vernon Center, New York a daughter of the late Harry B. and Zoa (Thurston) Hogan and was a graduate of Vernon High School. On April 14, 1956 she was united in marriage with Richard J. Avery Sr. in Gethsemane Episcopal Church of Sherrill and the couple shared this union of over forty two years together until Mr. Avery's death on February 14, 1999, Patty was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family. Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Jr. (Colleen) Avery of Atascadero, Cal, Donald (Ann-Marie) Avery of Vernon, one daughter and son-in- law, Jennifer ( Brett) Baker of Durhamville ten grandchildren, Sarah (Randy) Botts, Kristen, Mark, Jacob, Jessica, Stephanie, Molly Avery, and Rylan, Matthew and Avery Baker, three great-grandchildren Eli, Anna and Kaitlyn Botts and several nieces and nephews. Patty was predeceased by her husband and a son Dean Avery in 1987. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., immediately following the calling hour. Burial will follow in Stockbridge Cemetery, Stockbridge, New York. After the burial thefamily will gather at the Marble Hill Inn, 4482 Marble Rd., Oneida, NY to again great family and friends. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
