Obituary of Dorian S. Cragin

Dorian S. Cragin Vernon Center-Dorian S. Cragin, age 64, of Simmons Road passed away unexpectedly Monday morning October 5, 2015 at her home. She was born on June 7, 1951 in Oneida, New York, the daughter of the late John B. and Brigitte (Stadie) Cragin. She was a graduate of V.V.S. Central School in 1967and received her Master's Degree from Kent State University with a major in psychology. She was Fashion Institute of Technology educated. Dorian was currently employed as a mental health counselor at Mohawk Correctional Facility. She enjoyed her times spent with her pets and especially the times with her friends, family and neighbors. Dorian always had a bigger than life smile and always a kind word to share with the people who came in her contact. Dorian is survived by her brother Eric Cragin of San Francisco, sister-in-law Pary, nieces: twin girls, Lana Patra and Audrey Brigitte: Eric's previous wife Tora Spigner and their children: niece Christa Elaine and nephew Evan Wells Cragin, uncle Dick and aunt Jane Cragin. She also leaves two very special friends, Sheila Thorpe and Jean Langford and their families. Dorian is also survived by her most beloved min pin Bennie and her cats and chickens. She will also be missed by her many close friends and coworkers who were her extended family. A memorial service will be held on Friday October 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Augusta Presbyterian Church, Rt. 26, Augusta, NY. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to any animal rescue.
