Obituary of Irene H. Stone

Irene Stone Sherrill-Irene Stone, age 92, of Betsinger Road passed away peacefully Tuesday evening December 1, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 12, 1923 in Adams Center, New York a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Rose (Conway) Hynes. Irene attended grade school in High Market, New York and moved to Cazenovia, New York at an early age. She was a graduate of Cazenovia Central School and the former Powelson Business Institute of Syracuse, New York. Irene married Harold W. Stone on June 28, 1947 in St. James Church in Cazenovia; a marriage that lasted until his death in 2008. She is survived by two sons Kenneth and Cindy Stone and Daniel and Amy Stone of Sherrill, one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Bernard (Chip) Lanz of Vernon Center. Also six grandchildren, Amber (Travis) Herzog; Ryan (Dorothy) Lanz, Tim (Courtney) Stone, Christopher (Shannon) Stone, Matthew (Tania) Stone, and Morgan Stone, six great-grandchildren, one sister Ann Keville of Chittenango and many nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by two brothers Joseph and Donald Hynes and four sisters, Mary Brooks, Rose Hornby, Kathleen Wheelin and Florence Dougherty. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday December 4, 2015 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, New York. A Celebration of Irene's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Helena's Church, Primo Ave, Sherrill. Burial will follow in St. Helena's Cemetery, Oneida, New York.
