Obituary of Florence E. Roberts

Florence E. Roberts Vernon-Florence E. Roberts, age 70, of State Rt. 26 passed away peacefully Sunday morning January 3, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 29, 1945 in Higginsville, New York a daughter of the late Peter and Winifred (Wesseldine) Hitchings and was a graduate of V.V.S. Central School. On May 24, 1975 Florence and Stanley F. Roberts were united in marriage in Verona and have shared a loving union of over forty years together. Prior to her retirement Florence was employed with the packing department of Oneida Limited Silversmiths. She enjoyed her times spent with her family and friends. Florence was an Elvis Presley fan and accumulated a large collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia over the years. Surviving are her husband, Stanley, five children and their spouses, Mark (Tracy) Roberts of Liverpool, Gayle Tormoehlen of Ind., Carolyn (Bill) Hollar of Ind., Chris (Wendy) Roberts of Vernon Center and Kim (Scott) Haines of Spencerport, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers Claude Hitchings and James Hitchings, four sisters, Bertha Wright, Winnie Mae Canarelli, Isabelle Constanza and Beatrice Albert, as well as several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Florence's wishes there will be no callings hours. A private funeral service will be held at the family's convenience.
