It is with great sadness that I’ve learned of the passing of this great individual. He had the single largest impact on my educational life and set the standard for us as RCH students for honesty, integrity, hard work, and respect for others. We were all truly blessed to have known him.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Fr. Morelle. He was a humble man called to serve God, Church and his country. I have many fond memories of him from St. Mary's Church, from RCH, and from the many times he came to the Basilica here in Syracuse. He touched so many lives and will surely be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with his family during this time.

Father Morelle impacted my whole life. I first met him as a student at Rome Catholic and also as a parishioner at St. Mary's in Rome, NY. He helped me to the know the Lord better and was always a kind, patient, loving representative of the Lord Jesus. Because of his commitment to friendship, we corresponded by letter for about 45 years. He was always interested in my family and my spiritual growth. I can't possibly sum up all the ways God used him to help shape my life as a follower of Jesus, wife, mother, and mathematics teacher. As we often shared in letters, I look forward to seeing him in heaven. I'm confident he heard the Lord say: "Well done, good and faithful servant." What a wonderful legacy he left for all of us who had the privilege of being mentored by him! Thank God for Edmund J. Morelle!
