Obituary of Elizabeth LaGoy

Elizabeth L. LaGoy Vernon-Elizabeth L. (Wilczak) LaGoy, passed away Saturday March 26, 2016 at the age of 86 after a brief illness, surrounded by her family at Oneida Health Care Center. Elizabeth was married to Lee LaGoy four months shy of 66 years and they had five beautiful children together. Herbert LaGoy of Oriskany Falls, NY, Victoria Cahill of Fl, Roberta Rider (deceased). Laurel Hopkins of Canastota, NY. Ronald LaGoy (deceased). Elizabeth is survived by her loving brother Roman Wilczak of Vernon Center NY. Elizabeth was the church organist and vocalist for St. Helena's, St. Catherine's and Holy Family Church for a total of 53 years. Liz played and sang at many other community churches and local events, for all types of special services. Liz was also a member of the Oneida area civic chorale which she enjoyed for many years. Elizabeth has 14 grand children: Herb Jr., Dan, Randy and Lee Jr., LaGoy all of Oneida NY; Rachael Williams of North Carolina, Stephanie Klish of Verona NY, Chad Rider of Durhamville NY, Danielle Rider of Texas, Jason Hopkins of California, Larissa Hopkins of New Hampshire, Valarie Hopkins of Oneida NY, Katelin Hopkins of Canastota NY., Carmen Nease and Seth LaGoy, also many special nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Elizabeth also had a wonderful best friend and second family who helped to take exceptional care of Liz always. Cathy, Chris and Mikayla Gadz of Vernon NY., we thank you dearly. We all agree that Elizabeth was a loving mother, devoted wife and a pillar of strength to all that had the privilege of knowing her; she was a true angel here on earth. The Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday April 2, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon NY.
