Gwendolyn Alsheimer Sherrill-Gwendolyn Alsheimer, age 85, of Williams Street passed away peacefully Friday morning April 15, 2016 at her home. She was born on July 22, 1930 in Albion, New York a daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (Dawley) Williams and was a graduate of their school. Gwen and Albert Alsheimer were united in marriage in 1950 in New Hartford, New York and the couple shared that union until Al's death in 1982. Prior to her retirement in 1992 Gwen was a supervisor with Oneida Limited Silversmiths. She was a member of the Sherrill American Legion Post 230 Ladies' Auxiliary. Surviving are her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith (Betty) Alsheimer of Sherrill, Albert Alsheimer III of Oneida; two daughters and their spouses, Debra (David) Loucks of Oneida and Gwenette (Jim) Murray of Munnsville; four grandchildren, Eric (Melinda) Alsheimer of Vernon, Kelly (John Whaley) Franklin of Rochester, Leandra Barr of Oneida, and Whitney Alsheimer of Munnsville; five great-grandchildren, Keely & Ryan Alsheimer, and Brayden, Sean, & Trey Whaley; two sisters, Linda Roman of Rome and Theresa (Michael) Dougherty of Rome; two brothers, Robert (Esther) Williams of Floyd and Bruce (Claudette) Williams of Ilion, and several nieces and nephews. Gwen was predeceased by her sister Clare Batara and her grandson Timothy Barr. We would like to offer special thanks to Barb and Joan, her neighbors and friends, and the Sherrill PD & Sherrill Fire and Rescue.
