Obituary of Mary C. Durant Shea

Mary Catherine (Durant) Shea Stockbridge-Mary Catherine (Durant) Shea, age81, of Peterboro Road passed away peacefully Thursday evening May 12, 2016 in St. Luke's Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 17, 1934 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late Leland and Frances (Flanagan) Durant and was a graduate of Stockbridge Valley Central School. On May 22, 1954 Mary and Grant E. Shea were united in marriage in St. Therese Church of Munnsville and shared a loving union of over forty seven years together until Mr. Shea's death on December 21, 2001. Prior to her retirement in 1996 Mary was employed with the purchasing department of Oneida Limited Silversmiths. In her spare time Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and Nascar. She was a communicant of St. Therese' Church of Munnsville where she was a member of the Altar Rosary and served on other committees with her husband. Surviving are her two sons and two daughter-in-law, William (Kim) Shea of Oneida and Daniel (Carol) Shea of Oneida, grandchildren, Justin (Jennnie) Shea ; Kurt (Katherine) Shea; Bradley (Mattie) Shea; Jill (Cole) Wimmer; Cassie Pupp and Brandon Pupp, nine great- grandchildren, Autumn; Grant; Aubrey; Camryn; Levi; Chase; Lucas; Sadie and Kennadie. Her siblings Barbara (Kenney Westcott) Scheible; Shirley (Terrance) Kampf; Charles (Jean) Durant; Marlene Durant and Jack (Wanda) Durant, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her grandson, Brent and brother Lee. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday May 16, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, New York. Mrs. Shea's funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday immediately following calling hours at the funeral home with cousin Rev. Thomas Durant officiating.
