Obituary of Arlene Ruth Trexler

Arlene "Ruth" Trexler Parish- (formerly of Sherrill NY) Arlene "Ruth" Trexler, age 83, of State Rt. 69, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at Upstate Hospital. Born on August 4, 1933 she was the daughter of Melvin and Arlene (Rowe) George. Arlene's mother passed away when she was a young girl. She was then raised by her father Melvin and step mother Elizabeth Irene. She attended Oneida High School, and Oneida Madison BOCES, where received her LPN. Arlene and William C. Trexler were united in marriage on (August 20, 1950), and shared a loving union until William's death on (December 12, 1986). Arlene worked as a LPN at Faxton Hospital in Utica, NY, for 18 years until her retirement in (1995). In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, spending time with her cats, and automobile racing. She spent a lot of time at the Utica-Rome Speedway rooting on her favorite dirt track racers. She is predeceased by her husband William, a daughter Rena "Shelly" Way, and a half brother David George. She is survived by her three children, Kathleen (Thomas) Rogers of Lyons Falls, William (Mary) Trexler of Vernon, Melvin John (Donna Johnson) Trexler of Parish, son-in-law Jr Way of Sherrill, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, one half brother Albert (Alby) (Cassandra) George of (Virginia ), and one half sister Helen George of (Sherrill). Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday May 18, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 P.M. at the Malecki Funeral Home, 464 Sherrill Rd, Sherrill. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will take place at Valley View Cemetery, Middle Rd, Oneida at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the SPCA, or the American Heart Association.
