Obituary of William D. Jennings

William D. Jennings Vernon-William D. (Bill) Jennings, age 67, of Cooper Street passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon February 11, 2017 in the Oneida Healthcare Center after being stricken ill at home. He was born on October 3, 1949 in Utica, New York a son of the late Archibald and Larelda (Chabott) Jennings and attended Whitesboro Schools. On March 18, 1969 Bill enlisted with the U.S. Army where he served in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged on July 23, 1971. On April 5, 1986 Bill and Linda N. Richmond were united in marriage in Christ Church United Methodist and have shared this loving union of over thirty years together. Bill was once employed with Oneida Limited Silversmith and retired from Indium Corporation in 2016 because of illness In his spare time Bill enjoyed, bowling, fishing with his sons and going to the horse races. He was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan and was always willing to discuss current events. Surviving is his loving wife, Linda N. Jennings, four sons, Wesley Jennings of Vernon, Kyle Jennings and fiancé' Alicia Hamilton of New Hartford, Travis Jennings of Vernon, Zachary Jennings and girlfriend Anna Fields of Boonville, brother Edward and wife Janice Jennings of Utica, sister Bonnie and husband Joe Moorehead of Rome, sister-in-law Grace Jennings of Utica, bother-in-law Russell and wife Elaine Richmond of Verona, special friends Bernie & Suzanne Dorie & Thomas Bessoir and several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by a sister Donna Jennings and two brothers Richard and Wayne Jennings. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday February 14, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. Bill's funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY.
