Sherrill-Grace E. Reed, age 92, formerly of Cottage Place and more recently of The Terrace at Woodland passed away Monday evening, June 19, 2017 at Bethany Gardens of Rome where she resided for the past two months.
She was born on April 2, 1925 in Vienna, New York a daughter of the late Albert and Luverne Stone and was a graduate of Camden High School. She lived in McConnellsville prior to moving to Sherrill.
Grace was united in marriage with Stillman Reed Sr. on October 30, 1948 and shared that vow until Mr. Reed’s death on June 14, 1977.
In 1991 Grace retired from the Marcy State Hospital.
Grace loved music and enjoyed attending the concerts at the gazebo in Sherrill to listen to the music and was very talented at knitting and crocheting. She most enjoyed her times spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary (Wanda) Reed of Florence, Stillman Reed Jr. of Vernon, three daughters, Lynette Salisbury of Oneida, Luverne Pfohl of Sherrill and Marlene Schmidtka of Oneida, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, two sisters Velma Allen of Sherrill and Audrey Clemens of Parish and one brother William Stone of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Grace was predeceased by her two brothers Harold Stone, Albert Stone and a grandson Jason Salisbury.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. Funeral service will be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Middle Road, Oneida, New York.
