Obituary of Patrick S. Kelly

Patrick S. "Sam" Kelly Sherrill-Patrick S. "Sam" Kelly, 55, passed away surrounded by family and friends, on July 9 2017, in Sherrill, NY. Sam is survived by his beloved wife Renee; Son, Patrick and his future wife Taylor, of Los Angeles, CA; his Daughter, Chrystelle and her partner Jenna, of Sherrill, NY; and his grandson, Lucian. He is also survived by his Mother-in-law, Carol Sexton; Parents-in-law, George and Eileen Desgrosiellier; and his brother and sister in-laws; Nicole and Nate Mastro (Trevor, Alexander, and Giavanna); George and Alesia Desgrosiellier (Shannon and Danielle); Michelle Desgrosiellier (David, Sarah, and Rochelle). He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick "Jake" and Betty Anne Kelly, of Belle Vernon, PA. Sam was born on July 26,1961and grew up in Belle Vernon, PA. He joined the US Air Force, and early in his career was stationed at Griffiss AFB in Rome. While there, he met Renee, and they were married shortly thereafter. While in the Air Force, Sam was also stationed at: Vandenburg AFB, CA; Nellis AFB, NV; Scott AFB, IL, and served tours in both South Korea and Saudi Arabia. Sam retired from the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant, in 2000. The Kelly family then moved back to NY and finally settled in Sherrill. Sam was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in 2016, and fought bravely for over a year. Sam would like thank his family, friends, Seneca Meadows family, and his caregivers from Hospice for all the love and support throughout his courageous fight. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday July 11th, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, E. Main Street, Verona, NY.
