Vernon Center >> Caroline A. Wilczak, age 83, a long time resident of 4095 Bleeker Road Vernon Center passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 12th at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Caroline was born on May 3, 1934 in Albany, NY a daughter of the late James and May (Gawarecki) Spain and was a graduate of V.V.S Central School.
While attending a square dance in 1951 in Westmoreland, Caroline met Roman the love of her life and the couple was united in marriage at St. Joseph’s Church in Oriskany Falls on October 31, 1952.
Caroline and Roman shared this sacred vow for over sixty-four years.
Caroline had many hobbies including gardening, fishing, boating, swimming, snowmobiling, bowling and playing cards. She was an excellent bridge player and enjoyed anything outdoors.
Caroline’s greatest joys in life came from her family, raising her four children and serving as the secretary and treasurer for the family business, Vernon Agri. Service Inc. for over 36 years.
She is survived by her husband, Roman J. Wilczak, her four children, Linda (Thomas) Stanton of Durhamville; James (Cynthia) Wilczak of Rome; Sandra (Michael) Russ of Oneida; Jeffrey Wilczak and Tammy Avery of Vernon Center; her beloved grandchildren, Courtney Wilczak, Alexander Wilczak, Ethan Russ, Dawn Stanton and Matthew Wilczak, six great-grandchildren and her sister Patricia Rugg of Fl.
Caroline was predeceased by two grandchildren, Michael J. Wilczak and Clifford Stanton.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon, New York.
