Obituary of Catherine A. Fleming

Catherine A. Fleming Madison-Catherine A. Fleming, age 52, of Frederick Road passed away early Monday morning October 27, 2014 in the Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown after a lifelong battle with diabetes. She was born on September 6, 1962 in Oneida, New York a daughter of William L. and Barbara J. (Durant) Scheible and was a graduate of V.V.S. Central School. On June 24, 1995 Catherine and Daniel V. Fleming were united in marriage in St. Joseph's Church in Oriskany Falls. Prior to her retirement due to health reasons Catherine was employed for many years as the baker at the former Mason Jar Restaurant in Vernon where she specialized making her amazing jelly donuts and cinnamon buns. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing. Surviving is her husband Daniel V. Fleming of Madison, her parents; Barbara (Kenneth Westcott) Scheible of Vernon, William (Sherry Braungard) Scheible of Campbellsville, KY, mother-in-law, Patricia Fleming of Knoxboro, three siblings and their spouses, Joanne (Darryl) Hurst, Sandra (David) Clark and Andy (Gretchen Muller) Scheible , three brothers-in-law, Douglas, Timothy and Thomas Fleming and one sister-in-law, Kathleen Fleming, a special niece Gabrielle Clark, and nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Steven, Amy, Brent, Erin, Brice, Brandon, Justin and Zachary Fleming. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, William Fleming and sister-in-law, Rebecca Gorton Scheible. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Mary's Ave., Clinton, New York.
