Rome-Donald G. Kruger, age 79 of Senn Road, passed away early Monday morning September 24, 2018 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center of Utica. He was born on July 12, 1939 in Oneida, New York a son of the late J. Paul and Vera (Hebble) Kruger and attended Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools. Prior to his retirement Don was employed as a truck driver with the New York State Department of Transportation. In his spare time he enjoyed watching college sports on television, manicuring his lawn and spending time visiting with his friends at McDonalds. Surviving are his sister-in-law, Mary Kruger of Remsen, one niece, Kim Weckesser of Remsen, one nephew, Paul G. Kruger Jr. of Rome, several great-nieces and great- nephews and his feline companion Tom. Don was predeceased by his parents and his brother Paul G. Kruger Sr. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday September 26, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc. 23, Front Street, Vernon, New York. Burial will be Thursday in Upper Lisle Cemetery, Upper Lisle, New York at the convenience of the family.
