Obituary of Evelyn C. Beecher

Verona-Evelyn C. (Pawlikowski) Beecher, age 91, of Oatman Road passed away peacefully early Thursday morning October 10, 2019 in the Abraham House of Rome with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 23, 1928 in Rome, New York a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Komuda) Pawlikowski and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On September 9, 1950 Evelyn and Norman C. Beecher were united in marriage in St. Mary's Church of Rome and shared that loving vow of over fifty years together until Norman's death on July 20, 2008. Prior to her retirement in 1988 Evelyn was an aide with the Rome State School. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Verona and their Rosary Society. She enjoyed her family and the times she spent with each of them. Surviving are two daughters, Wendy Pawlikowski of Westmoreland, Brenda (Frank) Denette of Rhode Island, two sons, Curt Beecher of Verona and Kevin (Carol) Beecher of Verona, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are, sisters, Helen (Mike) Mizgala of Rome, Ann Moster of Rome, Agnes Beascock of Verona, Francis O'Brien, of Syracuse, Catherine Peck of Utica, and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, husband Norman, one son Carl Beecher in May of 2001, great-grandchild Paul Benedict, four brothers, Jim, Walt, Joe and Frank Pawlikowski, and sister Mary Gryszkiewicz. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday October 13, 2019 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church with Rev. Edmund Castronovo is officiating.
