Obituary of Barbara J. Haehl

Oneida-Barbara Jean (Hoadley) Haehl, age 84, of Pratt Drive passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. She was born on February 20, 1936 in Rochester, New York, the only daughter of the late Donald and Beatrice (VanNortwick) Hoadley. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Donald, Robert, and Jack. Barbara was the 1952 Harvest Queen for the Town of Greece and the Alternate Harvest Queen for Monroe County. She was a 1953 graduate of Charlotte High School. On October 2, 1954, Barbara and Robert A. Haehl were united in Holy Matrimony at Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Greece, New York, a vow of love they shared for over sixty-six years. Together, they raised six children, living in Irondequoit, NY from 1962-1985. They spent a year in East Greenbush, NY, before moving to White Lake in 1986. Together, Barbara and Bob traveled to Ireland, Italy, England, as well as Florida and Georgia, Maine, and New England. Barbara enjoyed her travels, but was always happiest at home with her family. Prior to her retirement, Barbara was an assessor for the Town of Forestport. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and reading, times spent on White Lake and most of all her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
