Obituary of V. Dawn Pingleton

V. Dawn Pingleton 84 of 29 Red Bud Road Chili, N.Y. passed away peacefully at home January 30, 2021. She was born in Peterboro, N.Y on December 27, 1936 to Walter F. and Theodora {Foster} Geisler. A graduate of Stockbridge Valley Central School at 16 years of age. She then attended and graduated from Cortland State Teachers College with her teaching degree. She taught for a year in New Hartford, NY then embarked on her career with the Rochester City School District from 1958 to 1991. Dawn was an accomplished pianist for which her family will remember always the holiday sing a longs and the birthday serenades. Travel was a great love domestic and abroad. She spent many summers in Greece. Hobbies of Dawn's were knitting, reading and walking the Erie Canal. She loved her daily outings to Wegman's, Chili Public Library and dining at Slayton Place in Spencerport and North Chili Family Restaurant. Dawn was predeceased by her parents and a sister Marie G Miller. She is survived by a sister Yvonne G. Phillips and a brother and sister in law Jim and Donna Geisler all of Munnsville. Her dearest longtime friend from college, her travel companion, they were daily together Joyce Moffitt and her husband Gene of Gates, NY. She is survived by several nieces and nephews along with several, great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her care givers, friends, neighbors, the owners and staff at North Chili Family Restaurant, Slayton Place and Chili Public Library staff. You were truly her family in Rochester. Dawn's graveside service will be private per her request and held at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Malecki Funeral Home 464 Sherrill Road Sherrill, New York 13461.
