Obituary of Elizabeth A. Moses

Oneida-Elizabeth (Colmey) Moses, age 93, of Fultz Drive passed away Thursday morning August 12, 2021 in the Oneida Healthcare Center. She was born on May 8, 1928 a daughter of the late John A. and Blanche C. (White) Colmey and received her degree in theology from Magdalen College of New Hampshire. In 1966 Betty married Herbert E. Moses and shared that vow until his death on July 5, 1995. Prior to her retirement Betty was a teacher at Holy Cross Academy of Oneida. Betty was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and its Rosary Society. Surviving are five daughters, Diane (Michael) Stedman of Verona, Stephanie Smith of Verona, Carol (Jeffrey) Webb of Camden, Pamela Warner of Allentown, PA and Barbara (Wayne) Zimmerman of Verona, one son Michael R. Crandall of, Indian Lake, two sisters, Mary Lou Carmon of Oneida and Kathleen Sill of Sherrill, eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Known by “Bam” to her family, Betty was predeceased by her parents, husband and three brothers, Robert F. Slade, Walter J. Slade and William J. Colmey. In keeping with Betty’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 16, 2021at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church , Main Street, Verona, NY with Rev. Edmund Castronovo officiating. Burial will follow in Rathbunville Cemetery, Verona Mills, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Betty may be sent to Holy Cross Academy.
