Obituary of Joan E. Knight

Clinton-Joan E. Knight, age 87, formerly of Clinton passed away peacefully early Sunday morning December 19, 2021 in the Masonic Care Nursing Facility with her loving son George at her side. She was born on September 11, 1934 in East Greenbush, New York a daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Loomis) Fisher and was a graduate of the Clinton Schools. On December 27, 1952 Joan and William C. Knight were united in marriage in New Hartford and shared this vow of 41 years until Bill's death on February 20,1993. In her spare time Joan enjoyed sewing, ballroom dancing, and was an avid bowler. Surviving are her three sons, William Knight and his wife Sally of Crossville, TN,George Knight and his wife Carol of Vernon Center, John Knight and his wife Cathy Collier of Taberg, and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Knight of Vernon, as well as seven grandchildren, two of which had an opportunity to spend more time with their grandmother- Erica Hutchins and Robert Hyde. Also surviving are fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her husband William C. Knight and her son Robert J. Knight. In keeping with Joan's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. The family will gather privately in Vernon Center Cemetery, Vernon Center, NY for burial.Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com.
