Obituary of Walter E. Loboda
Vernon Center-Walter E. Loboda, age 89, of Norton Road passed away peacefully early Thursday morning January 27, 2022 in the Katherine Luther Home where he had most recently resided.
He was born on August 8, 1932 in Pittsfield, MA a son of the late Walter and Sophie (Slosek) Loboda and was a graduate of Utica's Proctor High School.
On June 23, 1953 Walt and Monica (Shirley) LaClair were united in marriage in St. Patrick's Church of Utica and have shared this vow for over sixty-eight years together.
Walt was retired from the former Chicago Pneumatic Corporation, where he was employed as a toolmaker. He was also employed at Vernon Downs and worked with the track maintenance department.
He was a member of the Navy Reserves for several years. He enjoyed hunting, mowing his lawn, was an all-around great handyman and was a joy to be around. He was a former 4th Degree member of the Utica Assembly Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Holy Family Church of Vernon.
Surviving is his wife Monica, his children and their spouses, Deborah (Joseph) Perrault of Moores, NY, Randy (Jackie) Loboda, Melbourne, FL, Christopher (Renee) Loboda, Doswell, VA and Brenda (Karl) Esengard, Verona, fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Walt's family would like to extend their thanks to all the staff at the Katherine Luther Home in Clinton. The care for Walt was exceptional, he loved each of you.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church 4352 Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY. A spring burial will be in St. Helena's Cemetery, Oneida, NY. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
