Obituary of Denise J. Skinner

Oneida-Denise J. Skinner, age 67, of Forest Ave. passed away late Friday afternoon, February 4, 2022 in Crouse Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born on October 25, 1954 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late Edward A. and Dolores M. (Pole) Newman and was a 1972 graduate of Oneida High School. Denise was employed for many years as a waitress at various area restaurants and just prior to her retirement due to health reasons was employed as a dealer at the Turning Stone Casino. She enjoyed her trips to the casino and Cocoa Beach, FL. Her greatest enjoyments were her times spent with her family and relaxing in her night gown. Surviving are her daughter, Jacqueline J. (Skinner) Burley, her beloved grandson, Trevor Graves, her fiancé Peter LaChacz all of Oneida, one sister, Susan Wickham of Canastota, one brother, Douglas Newman of Durhamvlle, one brother-in-law, Robert Gates of Fl.,one aunt Arlene Kamilow of Utica, former husband, Jack Skinner of Oneida and many loving nieces and nephews. Denise was predeceased by her parents, one brother, Curtis Newman, two sisters, Lynda Gates and Mary Roache, one great-niece, Paris Newman and one great-nephew, Kyle Roache. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY.
