Obituary of Larry A. Bombard

Bouckville-Larry A. Bombard, age 74, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 12, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of his family after a brief illness. He was born on December 7, 1947 in Elizabethtown, New York a son of the late Walter Sr. and Lola (Coonradt) Bombard and attended their local schools. On October 27, 1965 Larry enlisted with the United States Marine Corp where he endured combat action during the Vietnam War and Lance Corporal Bombard was honorably discharged on April 11, 1969. Larry married his longtime companion and love of his life Rita M. Durant in Oneida, New York on September 27, 2019. He was employed for many years as a tree trimmer with Lewis Tree Service prior to his illness. In his spare time Larry enjoyed barbequing on the grill, four wheeling, fishing and playing cards. He was a true family man and his times spent with his family meant the most to him. Surviving are his loving wife, Rita M. Bombard of Bouckville, one daughter Michelle (JR) Marsala of Eaton, one son Matthew (Megan Smith) Bombard of Madison, eleven beloved grandchildren, one daughter-in-law Kali (Menikheim) Bombard , one sister Gail Bombard, one brother Bruce Bombard Sr. and many nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his son Michael A. Bombard, his parents, five brothers, Kenneth Sr., Walter, William Sr., Stephen and Melvin Bombard, two sisters, Pam Bombard and Joan Drake. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the calling hours. Spring burial with military honors will be in St. Helena's Cemetery, Oneida, NY.
