Mary D. Zucco Sherrill-Mary D. Zucco, daughter of the late Alger and Anna May Merrell Davies died May 21, 2015 Mrs. Zucco was born in Oneida, New York May 6, 1924. She was a graduate of Stockbridge Valley High School, Munnsville, New York, and the Onondaga Business School, Syracuse, New York. Prior to her marriage in 1942 to Anthony L. Zucco, she was employed in the office of the former company of Mastercraftsmen, Oneida, New York. Property in Sherrill, New York was purchased in 1945. Mrs. Zucco was of the Christian faith. Her spiritual advisor was Pastor, Kurt Johnson, of the Plymouth Alliance Church. She enjoyed genealogical research and held membership in the following societies: Regent and member of Skenandoa Chapter, NSDAR, Oneida, NY; Regent and member of Old New York Frontier Chapter, NSDAC, Rome, NY; a Charter member of Mohawk Valley Chapter, CDXIIC, Remsen, New York; Member of Mrs. Benjamin Harrison Tent, DUV, Binghamton, New York; member of Onondaga Chapter Daughters of 1812, Syracuse, New York; member at large of Women Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Co.; National Society Magna Charta Dames; Colonial Order of the Crown (Charlemagne); First Families of Massachusetts; Family of Bruce in America; Order of Washington; Americans of Royal Descent; The Plantagenet Society; Descendant of the Knights of the Garter. Also, a member of the State Officers Club, NSDAR. Mrs. Zucco is survived by a son, Lauren A. Zucco and wife, Barbara of Sparta, WI; three granddaughters, Jennifer Zucco Conway and husband, Aaron, of West Newbury, MA; Meridith Zucco Deverman and husband, Jared, of Groveland, IL; Aimee E. Zucco, of West Salem, WI; and two great grandsons, Caleb Jorge and Logan Jack Deverman of Groveland, IL. Two nieces, Petrina Ciuffo Lumbrazo, of New Hartford, New York, and Teresa Zucco Cardinal of Clinton, New York. Two nephews, Lawrence and Gasper Ciuffo of Oregon and California. Mrs. Zucco was predeceased by her husband, Anthony L. Zucco, in 2006 and her daughters, Dr. Lorraine A. Sherwood, in 2003. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. Mrs. Zucco's funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will be in the family plot in the Stockbridge Cemetery, New York. Those so desiring, may contribute to the Oneida Library, particularly to the Genealogical Research Center.
