Madeline A. Cline Vernon-Madeline A. Cline, age 85, of Wood Road passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, May 23, 2015 in Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital after being stricken at home. She was born on May 3, 1930 in Friendship, New York a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ferraro and was a graduate of the Friendship Schools. For many years Madeline was a self employed house keeper around the Vernon area. She enjoyed collecting tee shirts with names of places she visited, collecting crystal objects and teddy bears of all kinds. She also enjoyed flowers and jigsaw puzzles. Surviving are her son, Phillip (Kathleen Brown) Cline of Wampsville, her longtime companion, Donald Sprague of Vernon, sister, Jane Patterson of Lockport and three adopted grandchildren, Merwin, Chauncey and Mitchell Brown, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and four siblings, Simian, Fran, Mary and Joe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday after the Mass from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, New York.
