Obituary of Brenda L. Green

Verona-Brenda L. Green, age 50, of E. Main Street Verona passed away peacefully Monday evening August 15, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on June 1, 1972 in Oneida, New York a daughter of Kenneth R. and Rosemary L. (VanGelder) VanVorst. Brenda was a graduate of Oneida High School and received her registered nursing degree from Excelsior College of New York. On September 18, 1999 Brenda and Don J. Green were united in marriage in Canastota, New York and have shared this loving vow of nearly twenty-three years together. Prior to her retirement in 2021 Brenda was employed as a registered nurse with the Oneida Healthcare. For over twenty years Brenda enjoyed doing genealogy studies and taking trips with her family to Virginia and trips on Route 66 to California and back with her husband Don. Surviving are her loving husband Don J. Green, two daughters, Alyssa Collins (Tubz) of Utica and Kiaya Green of Verona, father, Kenneth R. VanVorst of Lawton, OK, siblings, Tina (Eric) Dillman of NY, Kenneth (Anne) VanVorst of Rome, William VanVorst of Oneida, Fred Edwards of FL, Nora Henslin of AZ, Jane Edwards of NE and Cindy (Tony) Askew of AL, father- in-law, Harry Green and brother-in-law, Danny Green both of Vernon as well as many special nieces and nephews. She is also survived and predeceased by many beloved family members. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, New York, Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, NY.
