Obituary of Irene T. Guisinger

Irene A. Guisinger Rome-Irene A. Guisinger, age 86, formerly of River Road, Camden and a former Rome native and more recently of the Oneida Healthcare Extended care Facility of Oneida passed away early Monday morning June 8, 2015 in the facility. She was born on April 18, 1929 in Rome, New York a daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie (Empey) Spatol. Irene attended schools around the country and graduated from cosmetology school. On June 3, 1950 Irene and Richard D. Guisinger were united in marriage and the couple shared that union of over fifty years together until Mt. Guisinger's death on November 28, 2000. Prior to her retirement Irene owned and operated Irene's Vanity Hair Salon in Rome. She was a former member of the Ladies of the Moose and enjoyed cake decorating in her spare time. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn L. (Michael) Turck of Camden, one son Gary (Sue Decker) Guisinger of Sherrill, one brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Patricia) Spatol of Waterford, NJ, one sister-in-law Clara Meier of Greenway, one aunt Tina Milazzo of Washington, DC, six grandchildren, Susan, Stacey, Scott, Ciarra, Justin and Michael and three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Anthony and Andrew and several nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her three brothers, Carl, Paul and Ted Spatol. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Malecki funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill.
