Obituary of Theresa A. Carter

Sherrill-Theresa A. Carter, age 93, of W. Hamilton Ave. passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon August 20, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by much love and care. Theresa was born on March 1, 1930 in Syracuse, New York a daughter of the late Karl T. and Marie (Kneubuhl) Eiholzer and was a graduate of Morrisville Central Schools. After graduation Theresa pursued a career as senior stenographer with Morrisville College. On August 12, 1967 Theresa and Paul E. Carter were united in marriage in St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Church in Munnsville, NY and have shared this sacred vow of over fifty-six years together. Theresa then focused her time on her family and was very active with the CCD program at St. Helena's Church in Sherrill and took on all duties at St. Helena's Rectory for many years. She was an active member of St. Helena's Church and sang in the Oneida Civic Chorale for many years and was a past secretary of the chorale. Surviving is her husband, Paul E. Carter of Sherrill, two daughters, Ann Marie Carter of Latham, NY and Karleen (Carter) Janetis of Boca Raton, Fl, her four beloved grandchildren, Helen, Ian, Laura and Brody. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her parents and siblings. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spirit of Hope Parish located at 210 Primo Ave., Sherrill, NY. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 2294 NY-12B, Hamilton, NY. Calling hours will be private for the family.
